Art of Living: 4-day workshop


"When you cannot handle the mind directly, it can be handled through correct breathing. The mind is like a kite and the breath is like the string."


It always is mind over matter. The quality of our life is determined by the state of our mind. If the mind is at ease, we are able to happily perform all our duties whether household, professional or social. The question is how do we keep the mind at ease when it keeps wavering between past regrets and worries about the future.


In each one of us there is a built-in mechanism to calm the mind but we are seldom taught how to use it. This is exactly what the Art of Living Part I Program will teach you.


The main focus of this program is an innovative breathing technique called the “Sudarshan Kriya.” For every thought in the mind, there is a corresponding rhythm in the breath. Just as emotions affect the patterns of breathing, the mental and behavioral patterns can be changed by altering the rhythm of our breath.


Program details:

  • The basic Program is a workshop spread over 4 days.
  • Open to everyone above 20 years of age.
  • Along with the Sudarshan Kriya, the course includes modules on skills for dealing effectively with challenging emotions, relationships, and situations.
  • Includes basic yoga exercises that are easily practiced.

Health & Happiness Course:

This 2½ hour one-day workshop will give a basic insight into what the Art of Living Part 1 Program has to offer. It will involve active participation into aspects like proper breathing techniques, yoga, and meditation and will provide guidelines on how to cope with the stresses of daily life.


The Art of Living Foundation:

This is a multi-faceted, non-profit, educational and humanitarian entity based in Bangalore, India having presence in 140 countries. Founded in 1982 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the Art of Living Foundation is one of the largest voluntary organizations in the world today. Inspired by its founder’s vision, its primary objective is to engage in various initiatives that uplift humanity, enhance the quality of life, and bring peace at every level.


The Foundation works in conjunction with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. It participates in a variety of activities relating to health, education, sustainable development and conflict resolution. It also carries out several joint initiatives with UN organizations such as United Nations Millennium Campaign (UNMC), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), etc.
